From Blackbeard to Anne Bonny and Mary Read: The Legends of Piracy Continues

What started as an interest in pirate history has grown into something much bigger: a complete series dedicated to the people, battles, mysteries, and legends of the Golden Age of Piracy.

My first book explored the life of Blackbeard, one of the most feared and recognizable pirates in history. Writing that book gave me the opportunity to look beyond the famous beard, burning fuses, and frightening reputation to examine the man behind the legend.

Now, the journey continues with my newest release:

Anne Bonny & Mary Read: The Women Who Ruled the Caribbean

Anne Bonny and Mary Read lived in a time when women were expected to remain far from the dangers of the sea. Instead, they stepped aboard a pirate ship, sailed with Calico Jack Rackham, and became two of the most famous women in pirate history.

Their stories contain courage, rebellion, adventure, mystery, and tragedy. They challenged the expectations of their time and created legends that have survived for more than three centuries.

In this book, readers will discover their unusual beginnings, their lives before piracy, their adventures in the Caribbean, their capture and trial in Jamaica, and the unanswered questions surrounding their final years.

As with every book in the Legends of Piracy series, my goal is to separate documented history from the legends that grew around these remarkable people—without losing the excitement and mystery that make pirate history so fascinating.

More Than Books

Camling Creative is also growing beyond the printed page.

Along with paperback and Kindle books, I am developing signed editions, pirate-inspired shirts, CNC-carved artwork, wall plaques, and other handcrafted creations inspired by maritime history.

Each project begins with the same idea: take an unforgettable legend and turn it into something people can read, display, wear, and enjoy.

The Next Legend Is Already Waiting

The next book in the series will explore the life of Bartholomew Roberts, one of the most successful pirates of the Golden Age.

Roberts rose from captured merchant sailor to powerful pirate captain and built a reputation that stretched across the Atlantic. His story includes treasure fleets, strict pirate rules, betrayal, naval battles, and a dramatic final confrontation.

The working title is:

Bartholomew Roberts: The Pirate Who Captured More Than 400 Ships

Work on that adventure will begin soon. For now, I am taking a brief pause to appreciate how far Camling Creative and the Legends of Piracy series have come.

Thank you to everyone who has purchased a book, shared a post, visited the website, or supported this journey. Every order and message helps an independent author and creator continue bringing these stories to life.

The seas are dangerous, the treasure is waiting, and there are many more legends still to uncover.
